Crew & equipment scheduling, connected to your margin

The scheduler your CFO will love.

Most scheduling software stops at the dispatch board, cut off from billing, payroll and costing. Assignar schedules your crews, operators and plant against the job you priced, so every shift flows into payroll, job costing and the invoice. You see the margin while the job is still live.

  • Every crew, operator and machine on one board
  • Every shift lands on the bid line it was priced against
  • Margin you can read today, not at month-end

The problem

A disconnected scheduling system can't tell you if the job is making money.

When the schedule is cut off from billing and costing, small gaps in the schedule turn into lost revenue and shrinking margin.

  • Lost revenue

    Work that never gets billed

Extra jobs get dispatched by phone and never make it onto paper. A hired machine gets invoiced for two months, then forgotten for six.

If no one recorded it, no one invoices it.

  • Eroded margin

    Overruns you find at month-end

Hours get coded to the project, not the task. By the time anyone compares them to the bid, the money is already spent.

Month-end is too late to fix a job that's running over.

  • Risk & rework

The wrong person on the wrong shift

Expired tickets, missing inductions and back-to-back night shifts get caught at the gate, or after an incident.

Every compliance miss costs time, money and trust.

Meet the new Assignar Scheduler

Twelve years of getting crews to site, rebuilt from the ground up.

Scheduling is where Assignar started. The new scheduler is built for 5AM: the phone is ringing, plans have changed overnight, and someone needs to know who's ticketed for that machine.

  • Any mix of crews and equipment

Workers, operators, crews, plant and vehicles on one board. Put a whole crew on a job, split an operator across two sites, or book a machine on dry hire.

    Why finance cares

Every booking ties to a job and a rate, including dry hire.

  • Compliance built in

The scheduler knows who's qualified, ticketed and inducted, and flags anyone who isn't before they're booked. No guessing, no phone calls to check.

    Why finance cares

Fewer stand-downs, rejected claims and rework from the wrong person on site.

  • Fatigue on your rules

Set your own rest periods and hour limits. The scheduler flags a breach before the shift, while there's still time to fix it.

    Why finance cares

Overtime exposure and fatigue risk are visible before they're paid for.

  • Next week to next year

Plan week to week, fortnight to fortnight, or six to twelve months out, all on one schedule.

    Why finance cares

See capacity early, so crews and machines aren't sitting idle between jobs.

Why it's different

Powerful because it's connected, from the bid you win to the bills you pay.

The schedule isn't a separate tool you reconcile later. It's one step in a single record that runs through every job, so nothing is re-keyed and nothing drifts apart.

  1. Win the bid

Upload your estimate or build the bid. Every line has cost, sell price and margin.

  2. You are here

    Schedule against it

Crews, operators and plant are planned on the job's own bid lines.

  3. Crews confirm the work

On mobile, crews confirm the shift that already exists: hours, plant time and quantities.

  4. Pay rules applied

Overtime, penalties and allowances are calculated as the timesheets land.

  5. Live job costing

Actual cost sits next to what you bid, line by line, updated daily.

  6. Invoice & pay

Bill from approved work, run payroll, and match supplier invoices to the job.

  • For margin

Overruns show up the day they happen, on the line they happen, not at month-end.

  • For cash flow

Scheduled work becomes billable work, with the evidence attached. Nothing slips through.

  • For payroll

Pay is right the first time, and true crew cost lands on the job before the pay run.

One schedule, two wins

Ops gets a better board. Finance gets the numbers behind it.

For whoever runs the board

Get the right crew to site, every time.

  • Drag a whole crew, with its machines, onto a job in one move
  • See who's qualified, ticketed and inducted as you schedule
  • Fatigue flags before the shift, not after the incident
  • Crews see their shift on their phone, with no phone tree at 5AM

For whoever signs off the numbers

Know if the job is making money while it's still live.

  • Every scheduled hour is costed against the line it was bid on
  • Payroll rules applied as the time comes in, not reworked after
  • Unbilled work is visible, so nothing scheduled goes un-invoiced
  • Verified figures flow to Xero, MYOB or your construction ERP

Questions

Before you book

Is this just a scheduling tool?

No. The scheduler is one part of the Assignar platform, which runs from the bid through scheduling, field data, payroll, job costing and invoicing. That connection is what turns a schedule into margin you can see.

Do we have to change how we estimate?

No. Keep pricing in your current estimating tool or spreadsheet. Upload the won estimate and Assignar turns it into the job, its cost structure and the starting point for the schedule.

Does it replace our accounting system or ERP?

No. Your accounting system or construction ERP stays the system of record. Assignar sends it verified invoices, supplier bills and payroll summaries instead of figures someone re-keyed.

Does it work for both time-and-materials and fixed-price work?

Yes. Rate-based work is billed from approved field data against your schedule of rates. Fixed-price work is claimed by percent complete, as progress claims or pay applications, with retention handled.

Will our crews actually use it?

Crews see the shift that's already planned on their phone (iOS and Android) and confirm what happened. They aren't filling in a blank form, which is why the data comes back complete.

Can we schedule equipment without an operator?

Yes. Dry hire is supported, so you can schedule a machine on its own and bill it for the hire period.
