In April 2020, the NSW Government announced the first 24 projects undertaking a fast-tracked assessment process as part of the Government’s Planning System Acceleration Program. Since April, the NSW Government has conducted 3 tranches of assessments, with a further 24 projects in May and 19 in June.
The purpose of the program is to support fast-tracked projects into the state by injecting investment into the NSW economy and keeping people in jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Planning and Public Spaces Minister Rob Stokes stated “this will mean shovel-ready projects can get underway and the construction pipeline can continue to grow…If approved, these projects will be a win-win for NSW: delivering jobs for today, and local community and business benefits tomorrow”.
Tranche 3 of the fast-tracked project assessments projects to create 14,790 jobs, 9,969 dwellings and generate $4.7B in economic value.

- Sydney Metro Victoria Cross OSD – Stage 2 – ( $315 million, 4,600 jobs)
- Yanco Solar – ($99.3 million, 123 jobs)
- Brandy Hill Expansion Project – ($15 million, 31 jobs)
- Parkwood Urban Release Finalisation – ($1.88 billion, 3,800 jobs)
- Amendment to Strathfield LEP – 2, 4 and 6 Pilgrim Avenue and 9, 11 and 13 Albert Road, Strathfield ($45 million, 90 jobs)
